Scarborough – Philip Earl Christy, 90, of Scarborough, passed peacefully on Dec. 3, 2023, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.  He was born in Portland on December 26, 1932, the son of Frederick and Simone (Michaud) Christy.

He grew up in Portland working as a young boy delivering groceries and went on to work for Federal Foods for twenty years.  In his later years, he worked for Nichols and Sears.  He also served sixteen years in the Maine National Guard.  Philip was an active and long-standing member of the Scarborough Seniors Program Advisory Board until his death.

He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years Alvina (Beckwith) Christy and siblings Richard, Betty, and Marion.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Maloney of Gorham, his three sons and their wives, Steve & Pam Christy of Bridgton, Tim & Cheryl Christy of Buxton, and Bob & Lil Christy of Scarborough, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as one brother, William Christy, from Delaware.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd, South Portland, on Tuesday, December 12, 11:00-1:00.  Service is at 1:00 with a reception to follow.

Burial will be in the Spring at Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough.
