Priscilla Ann Soule Yerxa, 86, of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and her devoted husband, Richard, on February 23, 2026, after a long illness.

Born on December 13, 1939, in Kennebunk, Maine, she was the cherished daughter of Joseph Henry and Adrienne Noel Soule.
Priscilla grew up in South Portland and graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 1956. The love of her life, Richard John Yerxa, lived just across the street. They were married in 1962 and shared 64 wonderful years together. Priscilla was a loving mother to four children and
raised her family in Scarborough, Maine. She and Richard later moved to Peaks Island, where they enjoyed island life for several years before returning to Portland.

Family and friends were the heart of Priscilla's world. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved and lit up with joy in the presence of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her bright smile and joyful laugh. Priscilla and Richard enjoyed a lifetime of boating in Casco Bay, countless date nights at restaurants throughout southern Maine, and lighting up the dance floor with grace whenever the opportunity arose.

She enjoyed skiing with her family and spent many weekends at Sugarloaf and Big Squaw Mountains with family and friends. She loved traveling with her husband and also enjoyed many memorable trips with her girlfriends.

Priscilla was a dedicated Girl Scout troop leader for her two daughters and their friends. She was a talented seamstress and cook, sewing her daughter's wedding gown and the bridesmaids' dresses, as well as cheerleading team skirts for her daughter's junior high squad. She delighted in cooking for family, making countless delicious meals and many treasured birthday cakes.

After raising her family, Priscilla returned to the University of Southern Maine, where she earned her degree in accounting. She enjoyed her work as Office Manager at Art Forms and later completed her career at the family business, Yerxa's Power Equipment in Portland, serving as Chief Financial Officer. While she took pride in her work, she especially cherished her coworkers, many of whom were family and others who became like family. Her homemade lasagna was always a highlight of the annual company Christmas party.

An avid tennis player, Priscilla spent countless happy hours with her friends at Tennis of Maine and competed in many tournaments. Her friends fondly recall the match she won that advanced her team to the district and sectional championships. She also belonged to "The Bridge Girls" of
South Portland and greatly enjoyed her weekly card games.

Priscilla was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Rita Butz and Ellen Gallant. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her four loving children, Nicole (David) of Gray-New Gloucester, Julie (Jay) of Scarborough, Stephen of Portland, and Christopher (Kim) of Gray; her
sister, Joyce Bailey of Westbrook, and sister-in-laws Dorothy Woodbury and Joan (Pat) Patterson and countless nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by six beloved grandchildren, Keith (Abbey) and Nicolas Mercer; Travis and Patrick (Kate) Griffin; Dustin Belair; and Christopher Yerxa, Jr. (Tori); and eight great-grandchildren, Joseph, James, Owen, Chase, and Luke Griffin; Harlie and Macie Mercer; and
Zoey Yerxa.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Barron Center Adult Day Program and the compassionate team from Gentiva Hospice Care for their exceptional care and support.

A graveside memorial service will be private to the family. The celebration of life will be held at Joseph's By the Sea, Old Orchard Beach,  on May 9th, 2026 from 12:30 -3:30 pm.
