Robert J. Foster

1945-2025

Scarborough—Robert J. Foster, 79 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his home.

Robert was born December 28, 1945, in Portland, Maine to Robert J. Foster Sr. and Edna Foster.  Robert graduated from Scarborough High School and later enlisted in the Navy where he served 2 years.  After he was honorably discharged, he went on to Wentworth Institute where he got his Associates Degree in Engineering.  He then went on to work for Danforth during the day and went to school at night where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.  He then went on to Vessel Services from where he eventually retired.  Robert married Paula Studley on September 12, 1970, in Portland, Maine.

Robert loved to go camping with his wife of 55 years and his 3 grandchildren.  He also enjoyed the many hunting trips with his sons.  He loved to read and cook in his spare time and take his dog for walks on the 4-wheeler.

Robert was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father and friend, always thinking of others first.  To know him was to love him.  He will be missed by many.

Robert is survived by his wife, 3 children and their spouses, Jonathan (Jeanne), Michael (Christina), Christine, and 7 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday June 22, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 US Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.  Burial is scheduled for Monday July 7, 2025 at 1: PM at the Maine Veterans' Cemetery in Augusta.
