Robert Pieper, 69, of South Portland passed away surrounded by family Sunday afternoon April 16, 2023. He was born December 27, 1953 in Portland, Maine. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Gerard and Louise (Pettay) Pieper, sister Joan and brother Daniel.

Robert attended several years of college. He was a people person and was always looking to impress. This helped him in his career over the years. The career he enjoyed and became passionate about was the real estate market and closing mortgages. He was also the Vice President of a fish aquarium club in Maine for several years.

Robert enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors, camping with his family and cooking among other things. He also loved the ocean. He created many memories with family and friends at Prouts Neck; enjoying the waves, swimming, fishing the tides from the rocks, walking both the cliff & boardwalks and cooking gourmet meals with his family.

Robert routinely met with a group of close friends for cards at lunch to play crazy eights and cribbage.

When Robert became a grandfather he was overjoyed and filled with excitement and happiness.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Joyce Pieper, his children John, Aaron & wife Alicia, Kevin & wife Lindsay, Nicole & husband Zach, 7 grand kids, Logan, Jordan, Evelyn, Olivia, Hailey, Maddison, Abigail and his brother Larry & wife Adrienne.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and even though Robert is not here he will always be with us and in our hearts.

Sunday, April 23rd there will be a viewing at Hobbs Funeral Home from 1PM-3PM. Monday,  April 24th at 10 AM there will be a Mass Service at Hobbs Funeral Home in South Portland, followed by a burial at Black Point Cemetery. There will be a reception immediately following at Hobbs Funeral Home. Friends are welcome and invited for a time of sharing and remembering.
