South Portland – Ronald B. Estey, Sr. died peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023.He was born on March 6, 1933 in Oakfield, ME.

Ronald enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, skiing both water and snow. Many a day was spent with his wife, Hazel, antiquing through every corner of Maine, with cookie jars being their most loved finds. He enjoyed the company of his two cats, Fluffy and Missy.

He worked 50 plus years at J.J. Nissen Bakery as shipping manager, along with Ron Jr who worked there 35 plus years. Enjoying also that his brother, and son Ken along with other family members also worked with him there, truly making it a family affair.

Ronald served in the Navy for 4 years, Dec. 1952- Dec. 1956 in Panama and Cuba primarily as a gun assembler and continued in the reserves til Dec. 1960. The ship was Yosemite that he also was stationed on.

Ron is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hazel Jane Perkins. They resided in South Portland, ME all their married life. He also leaves behind children Ronald Estey, Jr. and his wife Donna, Kenneth Estey and his significant other, Anne Marie; brother Wellington of Florida and sister, Justine of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren, Andrew Estey and Eliza Estey. He is predeceased by his parents Harold and Beuhlor Estey and his brother Fred Estey.

He will be deeply missed and loved by his wife, Hazel and family.
