Ron was born in the Spring of 1956 in Portland Maine. He passed very peacefully in the loving company of his family.

His Mom describes him as a "perfect baby". As a teenager, he was a dedicated paperboy and diligently completed his morning route in the rain and snow. He was awarded the Guy Gannett College Scholarship. He graduated third in his class from South Portland High School and Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Business Administration.

Ron loved our summer vacations at Crescent Lake Cottage (CLC), where he would challenge anyone to a game of ping pong or shuffleboard. He proudly donned his nose plugs and would effortlessly swim into the middle of the lake where he would serenely float. Boaters going by would call over to him to make sure he was alive!

His thirst for knowledge was astounding and he was a voracious reader. Each month, numerous books of all genres would end up on his doorstep for his reading pleasure. Not having any bookcases, one would often see books placed on every hard surface throughout his home, often the subject of many jokes. He enjoyed purchasing beautiful hard cover animal/historical books for friends and family and also subscriptions to National Geographic.

He was an avid movie goer and loved to frequent the quaint movie houses in Cambridge. The highlight of his year was in late winter when the Academy Awards were on TV. After purchasing expensive wine and smelly cheeses he would relax for the special evening. He could frequently be heard cackling and hooting into the night when various awards were given out.

He loved the TV land channel, glued to all the 60's classic TV shows such as the Andy Griffith Show and Bewitched. Most recently he was enchanted with the Downton Abbey Series.

Ron was an extensive traveler, visiting many European cities although NYC was his favorite. He enjoyed all types of wine, French wine being his favorite. He was enthralled with all modes of public transportation including trains, buses, subways and trollies and could tell you how to get from point A to point B without any hesitation. His face would completely light up with the mention of the Trolley Museum in Kennebunk, Maine.

Ron's most current job was working for Lease Administration Solutions for 19 years. From the words of his manager Rick: "He started as a lease abstractor and became an all-around problem solver with a title of Senior Commercial Lease Analyst and Auditor working with and consulting for many of the commercial tenants and real estate companies around the country. Anyone that worked with Ron learned quickly how detailed and thorough he was in his work. In fact, there was so much respect for his work and knowledge that many of his clients would only work with him on the very complicated lease issues. Ron never complained if things weren't going quite right. He made everyone feel comfortable and was very well liked by all his co-working friends. He'll sadly be missed by everyone here."

Ron was a private, independent individual. He also was very comfortable "in his own skin" and was not bothered in the least by what others thought of him. If one was fortunate enough to get to know him, one was not disappointed. He was quick witted and carried a very wide scope of knowledge on all subjects. His conversation was always safe and he was able to move in any direction with the topic at hand. He was extremely generous with his time and with many thoughtful gifts.

Ron is predeceased by his father Gordon Mitchell. He is survived by his mother Marilyn, his sisters Susan (husband Steve and children Katie, Jeremy and Jesse), Lisa (Jim and daughter Kelley) and great nephew Tristen. He is also survived by several loving cousins and their families and his Aunt Mary.
