Sandra Panenka, 80, of South Portland, passed away peacefully after a long illness on January 04 in Falmouth Maine.

Sandy was born in Braintree Ma, to Herman and Margaret Waldecker on January 13, 1945. Sandy graduated Thayer Academy high school. She married George Panenka on March 22,1969 in Eastman Ma. Sandy graduated from Beaver College in Pennsylvania. She worked as a Church Administrator, Christian Education Director at various churches through the years to include Foreside Community Church for 12 years.

Sandra enjoyed gardening, and spending time with children and grandchildren and her four legged friend Samantha.

Sandra is preceded in death by her brother Dana Waldecker, and son Michael Panenka.

Sandra is survived by her husband George Panenka, Son Nick and wife Cathy Panenka, Daughter Erin Tanguay and husband Chris, Brother Peter and Sister-in- law Mary Waldecker, and Grandchildren Miles and Rosie Panenka.

Please join the family for a time of visitation at 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, January 17th followed by a service at our South Portland Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road. A celebration of life will be held in the late spring.
