Sarah Bethany Harford, 39, of Swanville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 11, 2023 in Scarborough, Maine.  She was born on December 9, 1983 in Dothan, Alabama, to Stephen and Jane (Woodrow) Harford.

Sarah was a 2002 graduate of Belfast High School and worked as a behavioral health specialist at MC Communities; where she displayed a very kind and open-hearted passion in helping people and caring for the sick.

Sarah deeply loved her family, spending time with friends and enjoying the company of horses and animals.  She was a caring aunt, sister, and daughter whose smile and bright blue eyes would light up a room.

She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Stephen and Jane of Swanville, ME; sister Brittany and David McNamara of Epping, NH; sister Emily and Houston Havel of Bucksport, ME; her beloved cat Kitty as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will be invited to remember Sarah.

The family would ask those who are willing to consider sponsoring a child through Compassion International in her honor.  It is a Christian ministry that lifts children out of poverty.
