Scott G.
Libby
Aug 2, 1965 — Aug 2, 2022
Scott Libby, 57, of Falmouth, passed away on August 2nd, 2022 in Scarborough. Scott was born in Schenectady, NY to Ron and Lorna Libby on August 2nd, 1965.
Scott graduated from Falmouth High School in 1984. During his school years, he played varsity golf, basketball and baseball. He played on the same team as his brother Desman in farm league, little league and senior league. For a big part of his younger life, Scott played golf with his father and brother. They played all over the country together as a family, and it was one of his favorite things to do. His athletic abilities stayed with him throughout his life, often enjoying games of basketball with his son Jacob.
Scott began carpentry in 1983, and it was not only his profession, but his passion for 35 years. His specialization was in custom hardwood floors for over 20 years. He laid floors in homes and businesses all over Southern Maine, always leaving his sons name carved in one of the floorboards of every house for the last 22 years of his sons' life.
Scott spent his early years as a master of any pub game you challenged him to. Especially cards, pool, and darts. Playing Texas hold 'em at casinos was a hobby that Scott greatly enjoyed. He was always the life of the party, bringing his silly free-spirited nature anywhere he went. Scott was truly young at heart and could make anyone smile. He was quite the daredevil, often doing crazy things to make people laugh. Of those people, he made his family laugh and smile the most.
Scott lived and breathed for his son and grandchildren, always being a loving person in their lives no matter what. There is not a day that he won't be missed by those who love him.
Scott is preceded in death by Ronald L. Libby and Lorna J. Libby. He is survived by Desman B. Libby, Jacob L. Libby, Austin X. Libby, and Gracie M. Libby.
