SOUTH PORTLAND – Sidney (Sonny) E. Tibbetts died on July 27, 2022 at his home in South Portland. He was born in South Portland to Roy H. and Alberta Hall Tibbetts on October 9, 1932.

Sidney attended Portland schools and attended Northeastern Business College. He then worked at Nissen Baking Co. and retired after 42 years. He served in the Marines from 1952 until 1956.

He married Florence Montague in January of 1958. They were married for 56 years and had three sons. Sid loved traveling, camping and bowling.

Sid was predeceased by his wife, Florence, and his brothers, Lawrence and Ronald Tibbetts and sister, Carol Davis. He is survived by his three sons, David of Placentia, CA, Brian of South Portland, and Shawn and his wife Brenda of Standish; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 10-11 A.M. at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland on Tuesday August 2, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home and burial at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.
