Obituary

Tamlyn Marie Osolin, 65, passed away in her home on August 15 th , 2022 in South Portland Maine.

Tamlyn was born November 23 rd , 1956 in Westbrook, Maine.  She was the daughter of James Alvin Mardin and Bettie Marie Mardin.  Tamlyn is survived by her only daughter Emily Elizabeth Osolin (ME), her brother Timothy Jay Mardin (NH) and her father James Alvin Mardin (ME).  She also leaves behind her loving son-in-law as well as a sister-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  Tamlyn is predeceased by her mother Bettie Marie Mardin, her grandmother Hazel Bowen and her grandfather Richard Bowen.

Tamlyn grew up in South Portland Maine.  She started her early years of education at Holy Cross school, Mahoney, and graduated from South Portland High School in 1975.  Tamlyn went to college for a couple years and devoted her life to being an incredible medical secretary and had experience in real estate as well.  She always had a passion for being in the medical field and started out as a candy striper.  One of her favorite places to spend most of her summers growing up was at Hills Beach.  Her parents had a cottage there and they lived there many summers.  She met a lot of friends there and was always outside playing any chance she could.  Tamlyn was very active in her young adulthood and enjoyed many activities such as aerobics as well as running.  In the year 1995, she became a mother.  Tamlyn was the most brilliant, loving, selfless, hard-working mother that she possibly could be.  She enjoyed all forms of art, such as, making wreaths, baking, cooking, making centerpieces with beautiful flowers, singing and dancing, water aerobics, and even taking walks on the beach in hopes she would find sand dollars and seashells.  Tamlyn had the kindest heart and soul.  She was always so caring and would be the first one there to offer her help to her friends and family.  Tamlyn loved being a devoted mother to her daughter Emily and enjoyed every moment she possibly could with her.  She always did everything she could for her daughter, and they truly had such an inseparable bond.  She was a member of her church and participated in many activities, including being in the choir.  Tamlyn loved her family and friends so dearly and kept everyone laughing with her contagious positive energy and humor.  She lit up any room she walked into just by her presence and smile.  Tamlyn lived a joyful, fulfilling life and will be so truly missed by so very many.
