SCARBOROUGH—Timothy Hannan, 62, of Black Point Road died August 16, 2023 at his home with his family at his side after a courageous fight with cancer. Born in Rutland, VT, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth "Betty" Hannan. Tim grew up in Mechanicville, NY and graduated from Mechanicville High School and went on to obtain his B.S. at SUNY Albany.
Tim recently retired after many years working in the healthcare field as a data scientist. Tim's employers included Cigna Healthsource Maine, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, MMC Physician Hospital Organization and more recently Healthcare Purchaser Alliance of Maine.
Tim's hobbies included tasting the best ice cream to be had, hiking, camping, coaching softball, sporting events and more recently he had a passion for gardening. He was known for his attention to detail, accuracy and doggedly researching new things and strove for perfection whether it be programming and analytics, plant health, softball gear or panoramic vistas to summit.
Tim was predeceased by his parents William and Betty, sister-in-law Maureen Kiely Romano, and faithful friend and furry companion, Watney. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Clare Kiely Hannan, daughter Maureen "Mo" Hannan Arnold and son-in-law Stephen Arnold of Yarmouth, ME; his siblings Mary Hannan Cavallo of Saratoga, Kathryn Walsh of Mechanicville, Sheila Rabideau of Burnt Hills, William Hannan of Saratoga, Ann Sheridan of Ossining, their respective spouses, along with many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Tim will be remembered by his friends, family and colleagues for his kindness, his smile, and as an incredible friend, father and husband.
Per Tim's request, no formal services will be held, however a small private celebration of life with family and close friends will be scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
