Valerie Jean Doughty, 72, of Yarmouth, passed away July 15, 2026 at Andwell Hospice House. Valerie was born in Bangor, the daughter of Philip and Ruth Doughty.

A lifelong resident of Yarmouth, Valerie worked at R&P Seafood and Day’s Crabmeat in Yarmouth. She enjoyed writing long letters, drawing and her cat, Lyla.

She is survived by her sister Barbara and husband Doug Bradbury of Oxford; niece Crystal and companion Ryan and great nephews Cameron and Gavin of Auburn; niece Celina and companion Dee; niece Colleen and husband Al, great nieces Kathleen, Emma and great nephew Christan of Connecticut; nephew Howie and great nephews Howie Jr and Xavier of Ohio.

Graveside service will be held on July 20th at 12pm at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
