In Loving Memory of Wayne Aaron Atwood

Wayne Aaron Atwood, 66, of Limington, Maine, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026. He was born to Jacqueline Pignato (Mertz) and John Barry Atwood on February 29, 1960 in Salem Massachusetts.

Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Sandy, with whom he shared many wonderful years and memories.

Wayne was a devoted father to Courtney, Seth, Wayne, Nicole, Kasey, Cody, and Skyler. He was also a proud grandfather to Finnegan, Yazmynn, Madisen, Cydney, Eliza, Domenic, Brody, Damien, Jaxson, Titan, Kennedy, Hayden, FrankieJean, Charlie, Knox, Natalie, Taylynn, Roman, and McKenzie. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Some of Wayne’s happiest memories were made outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, spending time on the boat, snowmobiling, camping, and visiting theme parks. He had a love for adventure and enjoyed creating experiences that his family would remember for years to come.

Above all, Wayne loved being surrounded by the people he cared about. He often hosted big family dinners and get-togethers, bringing everyone together around good food, laughter, and conversation. Those gatherings were a reflection of the kind of man Wayne was, someone who valued family, togetherness, and making memories.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Courtney, Seth, Wayne, Nicole, Kasey, Cody, and Skyler;his mother, Jacqueline and step father Barry; his grandchildren; and his siblings, Robin, Jamie, Keith, Desiree, Jocelyn, and Heather, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Lance.

Wayne leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, adventure, and family. Though he is no longer with us, the memories of fishing trips, boat rides, family dinners, holidays, and countless moments together will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
