Wesley DeCapua, age 84, passed away at his home on November 3, 2022. Wes was born April 25, 1938 in Brunswick, Maine to Wesley and Geraldine (Payne) Green. He was raised, along with his brother Harry, by his mother and his stepfather Jimmy DeCapua. Wes attended Morse High School and graduated in 1956. He was renowned for his talents on the basketball court, helping lead his team to a state championship victory under legendary coach Gene Hunter and even competing in the iconic Boston Garden.

Wesley would go on to study at Chamberlain College for a year before deciding to enter the workforce. After a short stint at Bath Iron Works, he would find his calling working as an investment and sales broker for John Hancock Financial. He was well recognized for his talents, receiving numerous high achievement honors and awards. After more than three decades of service, he would retire and spend time with his beloved wife, Cindy, traveling in their RV throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. As an avid RV traveler, Wes became a member of both the Maine State Good Sam Committee and the Special Olympics Good Sam Chapter.

Wesley was a deeply devoted family man, spending countless hours on the fields and courts cheering on his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. No matter the distance or the season, Wes and Cindy could always be found at a ballgame. During the time between games, Wes could be found hunting for golf balls which he made available on the eleventh tee of Willowdale Golf Course.

Wesley was known for his good nature, hard work, and honesty. Most important of all, he was always one phone call away.

Wes is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia; brother Harry Green, his wife Anita, and their children Paul and Richard; children Chris DeCapua, Sr. (Cheryl), Laurie Roberts (Dan), and Cheryl Joys (Scott); step-children Stephanie Judkins and Daniel Dickinson; grandchildren Chris DeCapua Jr. (Amy), Kim Nelson (Cory) Derek, Deven, and Dylan Roberts, Mathew and Benjamin Joys; step-grandchildren Ben and Paige Judkins, Bella, Sam, and Nate Dickinson; great-grandchildren Brooke and Hannah DeCapua, and Anthony and Sam DeCapua; cherished cousins Bonnie Waltz, Kathy Dubord, Naomi Bonang and Kenny Blackman.
